PEC's Covenant
PEC’s Covenant
The following covenant represents the basis on which the undersigned baptised Christians committed themselves to one another in the work of the LORD Jesus Christ in Pershore.

By committing ourselves to one another we openly declare our personal faith in the LORD Jesus Christ alone for salvation from sin, and declare our desire to work together to maintain our mutual faith, and an effective testimony to Jesus Christ.

Confessing Gods grace alone as the cause of our being brought together, we freely affirm and promise the following:

1.
In all matters of doctrine, faith and practice the infallible Word of God, the Holy Scriptures, are and will remain our only guide.

2.
As a company of Christians we hold to the doctrinal position set down in the Baptist Affirmation of Faith 1966. This affirmation expresses truths that we believe to be truly taught by God in the Holy Scriptures.

a)
meet together in assembly to encourage each other in our mutual faith. We recognise that whenever the church meets we have a scriptural responsibility to be present,

b)
each endeavour to render that obedience and submission to the leaders of the church which the Holy Scriptures require,

c)
each endeavour to use our God given abilities to their full, within the local church, in order that the name of the LORD Jesus Christ might be effectively proclaimed amongst us and therefore to the world,

d)
each endeavour to care for one another with a tender, selfless love born of our Lord Jesus Christ. This will involve:-
