The next couple of years were tough and hard, but God gradually answered prayer and built up the work. So much so in fact, that it was necessary to move from the Three Springs Day Centre to find larger premises.
Rather wonderfully it became possible for the church to use Abbey Park First School, which is still where PEC meets today. This period of growth culminated in PEC becoming totally independent of all outside financial help at the end of 1994. A service of thanksgiving was held to mark this step of faith in February 1995, and just under 200 people from both near and far gathered in Abbey Park First School to thank God for His goodness.
This joy was not destined to last either, within 6 months about a third of those involved moved on because of irreconcilable differences. As it turned out the next 10 years were tough, but more than tough, they were richly rewarding as well. All of those who persevered through them, or entered into them along the way, would not have missed them for the world. God again answered prayer and made the most wonderful provision for the continuance of PEC. As a representative of those who have been involved in the church since it was formed in 1990, I have to say that those 10 years were some of the best; for God’s blessings were amazing, unsurpassed and really special.
Change within the true church is inescapable though, and over the last 5 years, new members have joined PEC, but some established members have moved on to serve the Lord elsewhere. By God’s grace alone though, the ministries of PEC have not been unduly affected by these recent changes, for God has provided both the necessary manpower and finances for PEC to maintain its vibrant witness within the
